Melbourne: Former Australian fast bowler and current Sussex head coach Jason Gillespie has been appointed head coach of South Australia. Gillespie will leave Sussex to become the head coach of South Australia. He will replace team coach Jamie Siddons, who has parted ways since the 2019-20 season was at the bottom of South Australia.

South Australia suffered losses to Victoria in the Sheffield Shield final in 2015-16 and 2016-17 under the coach of Siddons. Gillespie said, 'I feel honored to be given the opportunity to become the coach of the South Australian cricket team. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with players, coaches and off-field teams at SACA. I am very keen to work with South Australia. '
