Police have released CCTV of a man minutes before he allegedly sexually assaulted an intellectually disabled woman at a public toilet block in Melbourne’s southeast.

They say the woman, aged in her 30s, had been in the company of the unknown man between 8.45pm and 10pm on Friday last week before he led her to Soldiers Reserve in Werribee and attacked her.

He then pushed her to the ground and rummaged through her backpack and personal items before fleeing.

The woman had gone missing from her home earlier in the day and was found by police minutes after the incident, then later told a carer about it.

Detectives have released video of the pair walking along Duncans Road in a bid to gather information from witnesses, who are urged to call Crime Stoppers.

The man was wearing a surgical mask and can be seen pointing ahead.

He is described as having a shaved head and was wearing a fluorescent orange tradesman’s shirt, ripped brown tradesman pants and work boots.
