Imran Khan Looked Ordinary Bowler But Worked Hard: Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev is counted among one of the best allrounders of the 90s. He has taken India to greats heights both with his batting and bowling stint. In the recent interaction, he talked about the other great all-rounders like , and Imran Khan on ’s Inside Out podcast. Of these, he named Imran Khan, former Pakistan captain, as a most hardworking player. 


Imran guided the Green Army to their first World Cup title win in 1992 which is still their only victory in the mega event. He gained more fame because of his fast bowling though he was a significant contributor with the bat in the middle-order. The former Pakistan cricketer, who is now the Prime Minister of his country, is the national icon for Pakistan.

Kapil Dev heaped the praise on Imran Khan’s passion and hard work which led him to rise through the ranks. The former Indian cricketer said that Imran, at an early age, was not a lethal bowler but he improved his skill with time. Similarly, he worked on his batting and brought laurels for his country. 



Imran represented Pakistan in international cricket from 1971 to 1992. He played 88 Test matches where he amassed 3807 runs and 362 wickets. In ODIs, he scored 3709 runs and took 182 wickets in 175 games. At the age of 38, he retired from the game and joined several charitable works. Currently, he is leading the whole country and is ranked among effective leaders.
