Guwahati. Out of 33 districts of Assam , 25 were hit by floods and 22 people have died so far due to floods. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority gave this information. According to the authority, two people died in Dibrugarh and one each in Barpeta and Gwalpara districts. Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Udalgiri, Chirang, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Gwalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Morigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh and Western Karbi Anglong district has been hit by floods.
Barpeta has been the worst hit with more than three lakh people affected. 1.95 lakh in South Salmara, 1.17 lakh in Nalbari and one lakh people in Morigaon and Dhemaji districts are suffering from floods. The Brahmaputra River is flowing above the danger mark in many places. Its tributaries are also in spate.
