Social worker Basu Damani & family donates 10,000 face masks to poor & needy

Dimapur, May 23: Prominent social worker of Dimapur, Basu Damani and his family today donated 10,000 triple ply face masks for the poor and needy citizens fo Dimapur through the Dimapur District GB Association, GBs Union Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation and Dimapur District Village Council Chairman Association.
In a brief function held at Medico, Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur, the masks were handed over by Ato Yepthomi, President, Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association.
While praying for an early end to COVID-19 virus, Basu Damani disclosed that his family has decided to donate the face masks through these organizations as GBs and Village Council Chairmen are equally important in distributing essential commodities to the poor and needy people at the grassroots level, while the administration led by DC Dimapur and Police Department led by CP Dimapur are rendering their best services to the citizens.
Basu, who is also the proprietor of Medio, thanked the civil society organizations for taking responsibility for distribution of the masks. The Damani family also assured them of every possible assistance in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Basu further said if any social organization require such masks, then his team can arrange it at a subsidized rate in the public interest.
President, NDMA, Ato Yepthomi and other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Dimapur District GB Association, GBs Union Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation and Dimapur District Village Council Chairman Association thanked Basu Damani and his family for their generosity in helping the poor and needy people. (Page News Service)
