Haima 8S Seltos rival showcased at Auto Expo
Looking at the success of MG, it seems that lots of Chinese manufacturers are pushing boundaries to explore the Indian market. There were lots of Chinese giants present at Auto Expo, specifically SAIC-MG, GWM-Haval and FAW-Haima were the key attractions. Haima is FAW owned company. Haima showcased the 8S, the mid-size SUV which will rival Seltos and other mid-sized SUVs. To know more about the Haima 8S, keep reading the blog below.
From the front, it gets the split headlamp DRL’s setup similar to Hector. It gets the big honeycomb grille with a lot of chrome treatment. From the side, it gets the floating roof design. Other key design elements include five-spoke alloy wheels, all-LED tail lamps and the dual exhaust setup.
From the interior it gets full digital instrument cluster, floating touch screen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, auto start-stop, lane departure warning, downhill assist, parking sensors and many other features. The drive modes include Sport, Snow and Eco mode.
It gets an electric release for the tail-gate open and close. Overall the interior looks and feels like an upmarket.
The engine is the big highlight of the vehicle, it gets 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine. The engine produces around 190 bhp max power and 195 Nm peak torque, which is class-leading indeed and mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The claimed 0-100 km/hr acceleration is around 7.8 seconds.
The price will be very attractive, pricing will be somewhere between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 14 lakhs(ex-showroom). It will compete against MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, and upcoming Skoda Vision IN. Looking at the list of rivals, there will be nice confusion for buyers for sure.
