JNU management adopted a strict attitude, issue this decree
Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the most prestigious universities in the country, known for its quality education. In addition to the country, a large number of students from abroad also come to study. In the recent past, especially after the Modi government came to power, this university emerged as an important anti-government centre. During that time freedom slogans were quite famous. But now it seems that the hostel independence of the students is going to end now. University management has prepared a draft hostel rule. Under which the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University will not be able to enter the hostel after 11:30 pm.
Bill has to be paid on the basis of food and drink. The special thing is that students who openly talk about freedom of clothes, will not be able to wear anything of their choice in the mess room. This draft was made by JNU Vice Chancellor. The committee organized under the chairmanship of M Jagdish Kumar. The draft proposal has been passed to the Executive Council. Presently, students are being consulted on this. Under the new rules, girls will no longer have access to rooms in boys' hostels.
If a student is found in a male hostel room, disciplinary action will be taken along with the fine. The draft of the new rules includes hostel allocation, stay, leave, food, quality and audit. Earlier in 2005, hostel rules were changed. Hostel rules are in total 132 pages. The university campus has a total of 18 hostels. It has eight male, five female and five married hostels. The university management has asked for suggestions from all stakeholders by October 18. Students continues to accuse the government of attacking the autonomy of the rival universities.
