Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen playing an intense character in his upcoming film Kabir Singh, opened up about how he juggled between being a family man and playing the titular role
Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani are currently gearing up for their upcoming film Kabir Singh, the remake of Telugu superhit Arjun Reddy. The actors are busy promoting the Sandeep Vanga directorial and have opened up about their experience of shooting for the film in many interviews and media interactions.
Recently, Shahid talked about juggling between playing the intense role and being a family man. The father of two said, “I had no option but I had to shift my focus because Kabir Singh is a very intense character and I didn't want to bring that intensity back home. I wanted to be a good dad to my kids when I am home as they are very small to understand it.” Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput Kapoor have a beautiful daughter named Misha and an adorable son named Zain.
The actor went on to discuss his biggest concern while choosing the role: “In fact I was very concerned about taking up such role which is so intense and was thinking about whether it is the right time to take such kind of role now or no as when I did 'Udta Punjab' I was alone and there was no responsibility and I could be who I needed to be. So whether to do this role or no was my biggest concern as the character which I am doing requires me to be in a different head space and in a personal life in a very different head space. That was something most challenging for me. Because I had to keep making that flip everyday.”
The story of Kabir Singh revolves around an alcoholic surgeon named Kabir, played by Shahid, who goes on a self-destructive path after his ex-lover Preeti, played by Kiara, marries someone else. The film is slated to release on 21st of June.
