Name suppression lifted for woman who killed Wellington motorcyclist

(File photo)A 72-year-old woman who drove 13.5 kilometres in the wrong direction on a Wellington motorway before hitting and killing a motorcyclist has pleaded guilty. Police said the woman was travelling south in the northbound lane about for 13.5 kilometres before she struck the victim after coming round a sweeping corner about 3am. Grey applied for interim name suppression to continue on the basis the victim's family had made threats to her safety. Grey has been remanded at large and will reappear in Wellington District Court on May 29.
