Xiaomi to launch Redmi as separate brand
To be launched in China, the mobile will feature dual rear cameras, USB Type-C charging, a waterdrop-style notch, 6.3-inch display and a 4,000mAh battery.
Company CES, Lei Jun, has shared a few press renders of the Redmi phone, that may be called the Redmi 7, the Redmi Note 7 or the Redmi X. The phone has an all-glass body with a couple of options to be made available with gradient finish.
The new phone is expected to make Redmi a separate brand as Xiaomi looks to consolidate its position as a premium smartphone maker, taking the fight to other majors in the field. Xiaomi is also reportedly looking to rejig things with respect to ID and core hardware.
