Online guidance for AKTU students

LUCKNOW: Students of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University can now get guidance from experts of premier engineering institutions of the country through an online learning portal and in-studio video facility.This has become possible with the opening of Arya Bhatt studio, a part of Massive Online Open Course, on AKTU campus on Thursday. It will connect engineering and management students of 597 affiliated colleges of AKTU with experts.The studio will offer video lectures, specially prepared reading material that can be downloaded and printed, self-assessment tests through quizzes and an online discussion forum to address course related queries.The online initiative is aimed at improving the teaching standards in the university whose 39 affiliated colleges faced closure owing to poor placements while 150 colleges are struggling to fill the seats.“An engineering students studying in Ghaziabad, Meerut or any other city can get guidance from the university faculty of any engineering college of the state through live streaming on the portal and videos made by MOOC studio,” said AKTU vice-chancellor Vinay Kumar Pathak.He said the university will also invite professors from IITs, NITs and other institutes for guest lectures.The digital platform will cover more than 100 topics from various streams, he added.
