New Audi e-Tron Launch Edition REVEALED - Price, specs, and electric car range
Audi has unrelieved the all-new e-Tron Launch Edition model in the UK.
The vehicle will cost £82,240 and slots in above the lead-in e-Tron model. Base line models will be priced from £71,490 when it goes on sale in the UK in 2019.
Its specification includes the same things you can get on the standard five-seat models but offers extra technology and visual appeal.
The car comes with platinum-look 21-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED technology and the replacement of conventional door mirrors with camera units with two OLED screens mounted into the doors.
As a result of the cameras being introduced the car is 15cm narrower and they have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and have all-weather visibility and a heating function to prevent them from misting and freezing and will engage when the sensors detect dirt.
They automatically control the brightness to maintain consistent visuals in various different driving scenarios and can be controlled by finger gestures.
Other styling tweaks include a black styling pack taking in the Singleframe grille surround and window cappings and privacy glass extending from the B-pillar rearwards.
Inside the car, additions include a panoramic glass sunroof, illuminated door sill trims, matt brushed aluminium inlays and an upholstery upgrade from Twin Leather to Valcona Leather.
It also comes with two large MMI touch response displays with haptic feedback and comes with the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, wireless charging for smartphones and an internet-based infotainment system.
Powering the car there is a 95kWh, 36-cell battery mounted beneath the passenger compartment. There is an electric motor mounted on each axle which comes with 248-miles of range.
Together the electric motors produce a system output of 300kW and 664Nm of torque. It also the car to race from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 124 mph.
It is also compatible with fast charging of up to 150kW which can also 80 per cent of charge in just 30 minutes.
The vehicle also comes with a list of convenience and safety features which includes electric steering wheel adjustment, adaptive cruise assist, camera-based traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree camera offering panoramic views of the exterior of the car, plus a bird’s eye view, to help with parking manoeuvres.
An exclusive Edition 1 model variant will be introduced in the UK.
At launch, prospective e-tronowners who have taken advantage of the Audi UK deposit scheme granting priority ordering access ahead of the official 2019 on-sale date will also be given first refusal on a limited edition model – the e-tronEdition 1 – of which only 30 examples will be available in the UK.
The Edition 1 will feature an even more exceptional specification that includes a panoramic glass sunroof, four-zone electronic climate control, a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System and acoustic glazing.
Exclusive visual styling highlights that are exclusive to this specification range from the Antigua blue metallic paint, orange brake calipers and 21-inch turbine design alloy wheels to Audi beam incorporating an Edition 1 logo andaluminiumexterior elements.
The car is set to arrive in the UK in early 2019.
