Indian maid in Singapore jailed for grooming employer’s minor son for sexual acts

New Delhi: An Indian maid who exploited her employer’s young son into performing sexual acts on her has been sentenced to 18 months’ jail. She was committed for obscene and indecent acts with her employer’s underage son and told the child that she had recorded a video of them engaging in sexual activities.

A maid committed obscene and indecent acts with her employer’s underage son and told the child that she had recorded a video of them engaging in sexual activities.

The 33-year-old woman was sentenced on November 22 after the court heard that the offences took place over a period of four months from January 2016, when she was alone at home with the 11-year-old boy, Channel News Asia reported.

The offences came to light in July 2016 after the boy’s father found out his son was distressed.

Son called the father to say the maid was about to hit him

The son called the father to say the maid was about to hit him. The father returned home but she tried to brush off the matter. The boy was about to complain to his father but kept quiet after the maid remarked, “Do you know what your son is doing?”

Other than sexually exploiting the boy, she had also blackmailed him by claiming to have a video recording of them engaging in sexual acts.

Other than testifying about the sexual activities, the boy also told the court that maid started refusing to do his work and arguing after some time. She also started threatening him about an alleged video of them engaging in sexual acts.

“The accused’s offending acts in corrupting the victim and stealing his innocence, was not only selfish, it had also betrayed the trust reposed in her by the parents and would undoubtedly leave an indelible psychological impact on the victim,” said the Deputy Public Prosecutor Chee Ee Ling.

The maid will be appealing her conviction and sentence.
