Youth complains to police
VADAKARA: A youth has surfaced, claiming that the woman TP murder case convict Kirmani Shaji married on Wednesday is his wife. The NRI husband approached Vadakara DySP with the complaint on Thursday.
“My wife had left home three months ago and she had taken my children also along with her. Though we were separated, she has not got legal divorce from me and hence she is still my wife legally,” the youth said in the complaint.
Mahe Panthakkal native Manoj Kumar alias Kirmani Manoj, who is on life term, got out of Viyyur Central jail on 11-day parole and married the woman, who also hails from TP’s native place.
In the complaint, the youth says since his wife has cheated on him, he needs divorce from her and his children’s custody.
Manoj tied the nuptial knot at Puducherry Sidhanthan temple, which is 800 km away from Vadakara.
To avoid controversy, he had invited only his relatives for the wedding.
Another convict Muhammed Shafi had also married last year while undergoing jail term.
Participation of CPM leaders in the wedding had triggered a big controversy.
