Mandhana’s class and Joshi’s comeback Powered India Women to win the ODI

The first match of India women’s tour of Sri Lanka started with a lot of excitement because Mansi Joshi made her comeback in the women International cricket after her serious Knee Injury. Sri lanka women won the toss and chose to bat first but Mansi Joshi ruined all their plans within her first over.

Joshi took the wicket of Prasadani Weerakkody as Taniya took a brilliant catch. Later, Goswami and Gayakwad joined her and send the top order of Sri Lanka back to pavilion. Poonam Yadav picked up the wickets of Sri Lankan all-rounders and continued the domination of Indian bowlers.

Chamari Athapaththu batted with patients and given Indian team something to chase as she scored a responsible knock but lost her focus in Deepti’s over. Sripali Weerakkody hit some quick boundaries and sixes but Mansi Joshi took her wicket on the first ball of her second spell.

The chase started with Mandhana’s superb batting and Poonam Raut supported her very well. Mandhana scored 73 runs in just 76 balls with 11 boundaries and 2 super sixes. Sri lankan women team failed to bowl well in the first match and lost their first match by 9 wickets.
