Justice Lodha disappointed with SC verdict
The Supreme Court recently refused the appeal of the Lodha committee.
It approved the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Constitution. Retired Justice R. M. Lodha shared his disagreement towards the same and stated that the court had taken away the basics of it.
Dipak Mishra, the Chief Justice of India, led the apex court bench, on Thursday.
In his judgment, he refused to top the recommendations that were proposed by the Lodha committee and he also agreed to the draft constitution that was given by the BCCI accompanied by certain alterations.
Justice Lodha, discussing the same, asserted that he does not feel shocked but is surely disappointed because these were two fundamental recommendations made by his team in their report and it would have introduced good reforms in the administration, management, and governance sector.
He explained that the idea of Lodha panel recommendation was aimed at breaking the monopoly of office-bearers who have been given the power. He added that Unless they are removed there won't be space for newcomers. The reforms suggested by his team, intended to stop the people in power from building their kingdom for six years.
Justice Lodha seemed extremely disappointed from the Judgement given by the SC.
