Ever since the word got out of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer ‘Dhadak’ is in the making, everyone went gaga over it. Especially after learning it’s a remake of super hit Marathi movie, ‘Sairat’. Now the trailer’s out and it is simply AMAZING.

Watch the trailer here:

Janhvi’s character Parthavi is powerful and confident, to the point of being brazen. Belonging to a political family, she knows what she wants as per Dhadak’s trailer. Ishaan’s character Madhukar is a middle-class guy and the film set in Rajasthan. Reticent and yet in love with Janhvi’s character, Ishaan knows that discovery of their nascent love will end in disaster. False cases and police brutality later, the two elope but can you survive on just love?

As brilliant the casting of these two is, they are giving us some serious couple GOALS. Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan and will hit the screens on July 20. It is a remake of Marathi hit Sairat which traced the story of two teenagers battling the rigid caste system for their love. Janhvi steps into Rinku Rajguru’s shoes while Ishaan takes upon the role essayed by Akash Thosar in the Marathi film.

The trailer gives an overview of the plot, which follows the innocent first love of the lead pair that takes an intense turn. We also get a glimpse of their dancing skills in the brief 5-seconds where the famous track ‘Zingaat‘ is played in the trailer.

Dhadak is Janhvi’s debut Bollywood film and releases a few months after her mom Sridevi’s death. Janhnvi said in the launch, that she misses her mother dearly and wishes she was with her today. Janhvi also shared her mother’s views on Sairat, “I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her ‘I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it’. Me and mom had this big discussion on how she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan Johar) called and it happened.”
