Heavily praising the performance of Bharatiya Janata Party Government led by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh in the State, BJP National President Amit Shah called upon the people to support Bhartiya Janata Party in such a way during the forthcoming Assembly elections that the Congress gets uprooted from its very roots in Chhattisgarh. Addressing a mammoth gathering of over a lakh people at PG College grounds here during the statewide Vikas Yatra, the BJP National President said the Bhartiya Janata Party is winning since last three Assembly elections here but this time mere win is not sufficient. He called upon the BJP workers and office-bearers that this time the party should register win in over 65 seats. The win should be so forceful that it uproots Congress from Chhattisgarh.

Earlier, the BJP National President reached Ambikapur by a special plane and was given a rousing welcomed by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh at Darima airstrip here. Shah was accompanied by BJP National General Secretary and Chhattisgarh BJP Incharge Dr Anil Jain and BJP National General Secretary Saroj Pandey. The BJP National President after reaching Ambikapur by a special plane proceeded to Agrasen Chowk by helicopter, where he participated in a mega road show which culminated into a huge public meeting.
Calling upon the people to strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party by blessing its government led by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh here for the fourth consecutive time, the BJP National President said now that the elections are drawing nearer, the opposition Congress and its team will try to spread several distractions like SC/ST Act has been abolished, so far and so forth. He assured that till BJP is in power, neither the SC/ST Act will be abolished nor the reservation will be diminished.

Targeting AICC President Rahul Gandhi, the BJP National President said, ‘Rahul Baba’ is asking NDA Government to present account of the work done in last four years, but in fact it is the people who are wanting to know as to why no development had taken place during the 55-year rule of four generations of his family. He said to the AICC President that his great-grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru, your grandmother Indira Gandhi, your father Rajiv Gandhi and your mother Sonia Gandhi along with Manmohan Singh had ruled this country. He remarked ‘Rahul Baba’, we’re not answerable to you and will not give you any account but since we’re answerable to the people of this country who have elected us to power. We’ll detail them minute to minute account of development works we have done.

Giving details of the achievements of four years of NDA Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, the NDA Government has launched 116 schemes for the benefits of villages, poor, labourers, youth, women and all the sections of the society, in the last four years. PM Modi led NDA Government has opened bank account of 30 crore people, 3.80 crore mothers were provided gas cylinder connections and toilets were built at 10 crore households while 19000 villages were electrified. Shah said the Government had initiated several moves to safeguard our international borders as there are regular ceasefire violations by Pakistan. He said after the Uri attack, PM Narendra Modi took a decision and surgical strikes were made by Indian forces in Pakistan and revenge were taken.

Hailing the performance of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Shah said, no party has the courage to give accounts of its work to people ahead of the elections but Chief Minister Raman Singh has been doing so through his Vikas Yatra. He added Dr Singh had launched his ‘Vikas Yatra’ in the scorching Summer temperature but when summer turns up, AICC President Rahul Gandhi goes on vacation to Italy and Europe, while adding that the Congress doesn’t have the appetite to serve people. He said the Congress is opposing 'Vikas Yatra' but it is opposing the development. Chhattisgarh government has given befitting reply to naxals, he added.
