Cheapest Trip to Auli, Uttrakhand
In this hot summer, we all want to chill out in cool place. We started to plan our trip. My friends listed few hill stations. You know more poeple more choices. Their was so many names in the list and most of them are will be most teeming. At last, shortlisted Palampur-Bir-billing, Leh-Ladakh, Ooty, Lahaul and Spiti and Auli. We got 5 out of 3 votes to Auli.
Auli is hill station skiing destination in Chamoli District. Here you can see snow capped mountains on the hill top. There is two ways to reach Auli, one is through the road about 28 kms from Joshimath and the other is from Joshimath by cable car which is around 4 kms by the ropeway or you can start a trek from Joshimath and reach half way where you can get ski chair ropeway which will take you to the mid point. There is lots of resorts and accomadation available at on the top. When you reach on the top, the cool breeze will welcome you, you'll see the Nanda Devi mountain range around you, the artificial lake is available there and the land it's more beautiful when you crossing them by ropeway. You can do camping there.
Places around : spent a day at Auli and come back to Joshimath. In Joshimath you can visit an ancient Narsingh Temple near to the bus stand, you can walk around the local markets even you can visit Joshimath Gurudwara. You can visit Chamoli Gopeshwar near by town.
How to reach : Take a train from Delhi to Haridwar. Spent a day in Haridwar, visit Har ki Porhi, Mansa Devi Temple (go by trekking or use Uddan Khatola), Chandi Devi Temple (go by trekking or use the cable car) and Kali Mata Temple and then move to the Rishikesh (24kms). In Rishikesh you can visit Laksham Jhula, Ram Jhula, Neelkanth and Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Rishikesh, River Rafting, Fox Lining and Bungee Jumping is also available in there but be sure you visit Haridwar and Rishikesh in day only. Next early morning hire a local cab to Joshimath.
Tips : If you want to visit Haridwar then I suggest you to complete that trip by the evening and then dont hire any auto to Rishikesh because auto will charge you ₹40/person and leave you far behind the bus stand so take a bus to Rishikesh and be inform to the conducter that he'll leave on the bridge while turning to the bus stop because if bus will leave to the bus stop then again you must get back to the same place where i'm suggesting to get down. Suppose if you are 4 poeple then dont hire personal taxi, there will taxis available you'll take 10 poeple at once which charge you around ₹450/person and take less time than bus and there is only ₹50 diffrence between bus and taxi. If you want to take ropeway ride then dont by the cable car, use ski cable chair which is more cheaper way than cable car.
Budget : Delhi to Haridwar train ticket ₹185/person, Lunch (4 chappatis, rice, rajma, kadi and allu ki bhaji) at Haridwar ₹40/person, Mansa Devi Cable car ropeway +Uddan Khatola) ₹150 for round trip, Chandi Devi Ropeway ₹125 for round trip, Haridwar to Rishikesh bus ticket ₹35/person, Don't book any hotel at Rishikesh, after get down from the bus in Rishikesh then go straight to Sri Hemunt Sahib Gurudwara and ask them for a room, they will provide you room for free even you can have Langar (free food), Rishikesh to Joshimath ₹450/person and Auli ropeway Ski Chair ₹300 for round trip. Around ₹1300/person. If you wont visit Haridwar and Rishikesh then you can save more.
Good Luck! Happy Journey 😃
