HC grants 45-day bail to Jayanarayan
The Orissa High Court on Tuesday granted an interim bail for 45 days to senior BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra, who is now undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
Justice CR Dash granted the bail to Mishra on health ground asking him to go on bail till June 29 this year furnishing two bail bonds of Rs 50,000 each. He was also asked to cooperate with the prosecution.
The Sambalpur leader was arrested on March 15 in connection with the February 23 Banabira firing incident in Bargarh district in which a brother of Minister Sushant Singh was injured and his driver was killed.
Mishra was taken ill after he was arrested and was shifted to the local VSS Medical College Hospital. He was, however, shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack and subsequently to the AIIMS on May 5.
