PHVHSS intensifies agitation for SCS by calling for ‘Bijili bandh’ on April 24

The Pratyeka Hoda Vibhajana Hameela Sadhana Samithi today decided to intensify the ongoing agitation for achieving Special Category Status has given a call Bijili bandh on April 24 after successful bandh today across the 13 districts of the State.

PHVHSS president Chalasani Srinivas gave a call to people to switch off power for half-an hour from 7pm to 7.30pm in protest against what he called indifferent attitude of the Central Government. ‘We need to send a strong message to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The samiti is also planning to stage a rasta roko on National Highways and ghero the Central Government offices, he said.

Chalasani said that it was unfortunate that the TDP stayed away from the today bandh which saw participation of all parties joining hands to make it a grand success. CPI State secretary P.Ramakrishna said that the BJP was spreading lies on the Centre’s contribution to the State government and warned total washout in the next general elections.

He went hammer ang tongs at the State government for arresting agitators in several places who were protesting in a peaceful manner. Instead of joining hands, the Chief Minister is advocating protest in Japanese way. He advised Chandrababu not to take up his one-day fast on April 20 in Vijayawada and instead take up it at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to draw the attention of the BJP bigwigs.
