Ssangyong Rexton based Mahindra XUV700 India launch during festive season
Mahindra XUV700 has created quite a buzz in the Indian car market and since the homegrown brand has shown it at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo with the Rexton badge, we have been eagerly waiting for its launch. Now, the SsangYong Rexton based SUV has been spotted in Nashik without any camouflage ahead of its scheduled launch during festive season this year.

Name of the Mahindra SUV is yet to be revealed. Also, despite being based on the SsangYong Rexton, the car will certainly arrive sporting distinctive design elements. Expect it to get Mahindra’s signature design elements. It will come featuring HID headlamps, integrated LED daytime running lights. A chrome garnished front grille will be there and it will get skid plates on both the ends.
The muscular looking car could get new design 18-inch alloy wheels compared to the new SsangYong Rexton. However, the basic silhouette of the Rexton will remain there in this Mahindra badged model. Upon launch, it will compete with rivals like Toyota Fortuner and Ford endeavour. Inside the cabin, this SUV will get several upmarket features. There will be a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV will offer generous space for the occupants.
Power source for the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 will be powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine capable of churning out 178 bhp of peak power and 420 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be coupled with a Mercedes-Benz sourced 7-speed automatic gearbox along with a 6-speed manual unit. Also, it will get AWD making the car capable of performing tough tasks.
