Kotwali police nab two vehicle-lifters
Kotwali police have succeeded in apprehending two vehicle-lifters, including a minor aged boy, and seized 10 stolen vehicles amounting to Rs 5 lakh from them. The vehicle-lifters were arrested during a special campaign against listed criminals. The arrested has been identified as Bharat Thakur (19), son of late Gopal Thakur, a resident of Ram Nagar, Kacchiyana while another accused is 17 years of age, a resident of Damohnaka Square.
CSP, Kotwali, Sitaram Yadav informed this while addressing a press conference, on Tuesday evening. It may be noted that Superintendent of Police, Shashikant Shukla has directed the officers for collecting information about listed criminals and their current occupations and activities to put up vigilant check on anti-social activities in the district. In compliance with the direction, police have started a special campaign under the supervision of Additional SP (City), Guru Prasad Parashar and CSP, Kotwali, Sitaram Yadav.
During the campaign, police received information about two suspects, who were seen with a stolen vehicle near Damohnaka Square. Acting promptly on the information, a police team led by SHO of Kotwali police station, R K Malviya started a search and trapped the two suspects and seized a stolen motorcycle from them. In further investigation, police learnt that one of the accused is minor aged. In the questioning, the accused disclosed several vehicle lifting incidents. On their identification, police have retrieved nine more stolen vehicles from them amounting to Rs 5 lakh.
The vehicle-lifters were apprehended with active working of police team comprising Inspector, Rajesh Malviya, SI, Ishwari Patel, ASI, Santram Bagri, constables, Ajay Sonkar and Ramlal Kushwaha.SP, Shashikant Shukla has declared cash rewards for members of police team.
