Meet on access to free medicine
Bhubaneswar: A day-long district-level consultation event was organised by city-based voluntary organization, Centre for Child and Women Development (CCWD), in collaboration with Oxfam India at Red Cross Bhawan here Monday. Objective of the event was to ensure better health services and create awareness among different stake holders to access for free medicines.
Speaking on the occasion Santosh Patra of Oxfam India said that the campaign aims to ensure availability of free medicine in all government hospitals and make certain that the poor receive more benefits and access free medicines.
Ritanjali Mishra, senior gynecologist, spoke about implementation of free medicine (Niramaya) scheme. Gouranga Chandra Mohapatra, convenor of mass health movement also spoke on Niramaya schemes, quality and efficacy of free medicines. Sadasiv Swain, secretary of CCWD, emphasised on ensuring better health services to daily wage workers as well as creating awareness among them to access free medicine.
Harish Chandra Murmu, corporator ward No 2, Naba Kishore Behera, corporator, ward No 37, and Susmita Das, corporator ward No 17 of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) were guests on the occasion.
An awareness programme was also organised at Niladri Vihar Labour Market here Sunday in which more than 200 labourers participated.
