Two students from Nagaland to compete in 1st ntl election quiz

Two students from Nagaland, Merio N. Ngullie, Class-12 and Kekhriese Yhoshu, Class-11 both from Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima would be representing Nagaland at the first ever national election quiz on January 14 and 15 at New Delhi. According to DIPR report, all 34 states/UTs would be competing in the quiz competition. The both the students as a team from Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima competed in the intra school competition which was held across the state in November 2017. The winners from each school then competed in the district round during first week of December 2017. Finally the winners of district round then competed in the state round on December 15, 2017 wherein the duo emerged as winners of the state round. Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Nagaland has appointed assistant professor, Bachu Yhoshu from Sao Chang Government College, Tuensang as the liaison officer of the competitors. The semi finals and finals would be held in the Rajya Sabha TV Studio from January 14 to 15. This coverage would be telecast across the country later. As and when the telecast schedule is given by the ECI, it shall be shared with both electronic and print media for publicity so that the citizens would be able to watch the national events in Nagaland, informed the report.
