BJP MP Poonam Mahajan on Monday said ranchers and tribals challenging in Maharashtra were being misinformed by "urban Maoists".
The comments drew fire from the CPM, NCP and AAP, whose pioneers focused on the BJP MP for the "heartless" comments.

The MP from Mumbai North Focal said it was the duty of the BJP-drove Maharashtra government to sit with the nonconformists, who were being "caught" by Maoists, to take care of their issues.
"Unfortunately, tribals have been caught by the Maoists and their inside is in Pune. The administration can complete a considerable measure for them, yet the (Maoists') philosophy is halting them."
"We have seen urban Maoists in numerous urban communities of India. They go to locale which are called Maoists influenced regions," Mahajan told columnists outside Parliament.
"Maoists are misinforming them (the ranchers). It is the duty of the Maharashtra government to sit with the ranchers and deal with the issue," she said as Mumbai's Azad Maidan transformed into an ocean of red on Monday morning with a large number of agriculturists conveying warnings merging in the wake of strolling around 180 km from neighboring Nashik area for six days.
