NZ Olympic Committee boss Kereyn Smith labels media coverage of women 'horrifyingly bad'GETTY IMAGES NZOC boss Kereyn Smith has called for the Kiwi media to give women the same coverage as men. New Zealand Olympic Committee chief executive Kereyn Smith has ripped the media for what she called "horrifyingly bad" coverage of women's sport. Smith made the comment during an interview on Newstalk ZB on Tuesday morning, and went on to call for equal media coverage for male and female athletes. "There just hasn't been the storytelling of women's sport, and just the mass coverage of male sport continues to feed upon itself," Smith told Newstalk ZB's Kate Hawkesby. Netball received relatively good coverage, but as a whole, women's sport didn't just receive less coverage than men's sport, the quality wasn't as good, Smith said.
