Rajasthan govt announces loan waiver for farmers in budget
Jaipur, Feb 12 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday announced one time loan waiver of upto Rs 50,000 for small and marginal farmers in the state.
In her budget speech in the assembly, Ms Raje also announced to set up a farmers loan relief commission where farmers can present their side for getting relief on merit basis.
The Chief Minister, who also holds finance portfolio, said that the decision of loan waiver will cost Rs 8,000 crore on exchequer.
She also announced free travel for people above 80 years of age and the hike in honorarium to Anganwadi workers.
Chief Minister also announced to two schemes in the name of two BJP leaders - Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Sundar Singh Bhandari.
