The Apache RR 310 borrows its underpinnings from the BMW G310R but for the looks and styling, TVS seems to have taken inspiration from the Ducati Panigale.
‘Shark’ seems to be the codename for Ducati as the Apache 310’s design is inspired from a shark
With the Apache RR 310, TVS makes its foray into the premium sports bikes segment and going by the first looks and first ride, the company has a winner in the Apache RR 310. Most of us might be aware that the full faired Apache shares its underpinnings with the BMW G310R but when it comes to looks and styling, TVS’ engineers seem to have taken inspiration from the Ducati Panigale.
This isn’t the first time TVS has done something similar that the Italian manufacturer has been doing. Remember the Apache 200 had a tricolour insignia in its bodywork, that seemed inspired from Ducati. Nonetheless, our point here is not to complain about TVS’ job but to keep you all informed. Well, coming to the Apache 310, the styling on the bike is clearly evident that TVS’ design team somewhere had the Ducati Panigale in mind while designing the motorcycle. This isn’t a bad thing at all because the fit and finish of the motorcycle is above Indian standards.
The overall stance including the side profile and the tail-section of the Apache RR 310, the way the tail-light has been shaped and even the fonts used on the motorcycle’s decals are reminiscent of Ducati. The words ‘RaceSpec’ have an identical font to that of ‘Ducati Corse’ as seen on the Panigale.
The flagship Apache is available in a sole variant and TVS has priced it at Rs. 2.05 lakhs (ex-showroom, Chennai). The motorcycle is powered by a 312cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor that churns out 33.5 HP of power and 27.3 Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The automaker has confirmed commencement of bookings for the Apache RR 310 while deliveries will begin at the start of January 2018.
