Maruti is geared up to launch the all-new Ignis in India on January 13. The model will go on sale through Maruti Suzuki’s premium dealership, Nexa and will be available in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. In India, the Ignis will come packed with company’s tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol with 82 bhp and 1.3-litre diesel engines with 74 bhp. Pre-booking of the model has already started where dealers are booking the car at a token amount of Rs 11,000 and the car can also be booked online on the Maruti Nexa Official website.
Maruti Ignis Sigma (Petrol manual only)
The Sigma variant of the Maruti Ignis will come packed with air conditioner and heater, front power windows with driver side auto down, tilt adjust steering, 12V power outlet, ISOFIX child seat anchors, speed sensing door locks, driver seatbelt reminder and 15-inch steel wheels. For the safety, it will feature dual airbags and ABS (Anti-Lock Braking Syzytem) with EBD.
Maruti Ignis Delta (Manual and AMT)
The Maruti Ignis Delta Manual and AMT variants will feature a Dual-tone dashboard, steering-mounted controls, turn indicators on the wing mirrors, tachometer, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, two speakers, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, split-folding rear seat, rear power windows and security alarm
Maruti Ignis Zeta (Manual and AMT)
The Zeta variant will get fog lamps, four speakers and two tweeters, keyless go, electric folding wing mirrors, rear parking sensors, rear defogger and wiper, and will ride an 15-inch alloy wheels,
Maruti Ignis Alpha
Maruti Suzuki Ignis Alpha variant will be come couple with manual gearbox only and will boasts of features LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights, puddle lamps, a SmartPlay infotainment system with remote app, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, automatic climate control system, driver’s seat height adjust and a reverse camera.
Maruti Suzuki claims ARAI fuel efficiency figures of 20.89 kmpl for the petrol engine and 26.80 kmpl for the diesel units. Maruti Suzuki will introduce the base variant Sigma only with a petrol powertrain and the AMT gearbox option is only being offered in the mid-level Delta and Zeta trims.
The Ignis is expected to be introduced at a starting price of Rs 5 lakh (Ex showroom). Maruti Ignis with tie its horns directly with the Mahindra KUV100, while it will also have some indirect rivals at this competitive price point include Hyundai i20 Active and Fiat Avventura.
Followed by the launch of the compact crossover Ignis, Maruti Suzuki will gear up for the launch of the performance packed Baleno RS in February 2017.
